The Peter Danes Pavilion - Update

We're off!

At a historic committee meeting last week we agreed to appoint Bournes Projects to build our new pavilion. Work will start on 8 November with the aim of the building being complete by early-May next year. Details of the plans can be found here.

It's been a long process that started back in March 2020. We've had to navigate the pandemic, watch on as commodity prices have soared, and generally waited as planning and value engineering processes have dragged on and on. A huge thank you to everyone who has responded to consultations, attended meetings, provided feedback and generally shown their support.

To ensure the finished building meets all our expectations we're planning a fundraising campaign over the winter. Stay tuned for more information on this in the coming weeks (and for pictures of the pavilion as it goes up). It'll require a whole club and community effort to hit our target so please do get involved. As always, it would be brilliant if everyone could share, retweet or like any social media posts from the club's accounts (links below) as well as spreading the word in good old fashioned face-to-face conversation to make sure as many people as possible know about our amazing club. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Finally, we should all extend all our thanks once again to Peter Danes and the incredible legacy he left us. We hope he'd be proud of the new building and how the club has pulled together to get to this stage.
